Given his time of 28:03 and 13:30 he seems to be cleary the base usa collegiate runner this year. The question is can he sneak into an olympic slot in either event. Although the 10k is probably his best shot... we will see if he peaked too soon or what we are seeing now is just part of an upward trajectory. My guess, it can go either way...its been said before but its sweet to see an non hyped, focused, small catholic school dude roll....
28:03 isnt fast.
What kind of crack pipe do people smoke on this message board?
28;03 is VERY FAST.
no, 26:18 is fast
I dont think he has peaked early because of how consistent he has been from indoor till now. He ran 7:51 indoor and has just kept going, seems to me that he is running well and could improve a few seconds in both events from now until the trials.
However your statement of him being the "base?" USA collegiate runner might be off. I dont quite know what you mean by base (typo for best?) I think that although McDougal hasnt shown it, he could very well emerge as the best. Bauhs is running great too, only 1 second behind Sean at Mt. Sac.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I think 31/15 is fast. Anything slower than 27/13 isn't competitive on the world stage, but that doesn't mean it isn't fast.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
