I'm a high school runner and during this past track season I took 3 weeks of running every other day due to pain in what seems to be the Peroneus Longus muscle. This muscle is on the exterior side of the lower leg and runs from about the outside bone of the ankle up to the head of the fibula near the outside of the knee. After 2 weeks of continuous running, during a quick 7 mile run, it sparked up and started feeling like it was on fire. That was about a month ago and I took 3 days off and it was fine. I recently was doing some sprints during ultimate frisbee and I was forced to stop because it hurt. Now, three days later, it is still sore when I walk. I've been icing it like hell and ibuprofen but I need this to go away for summer running. Does anybody have any advice?
