Hey guys I did 10 x 400 with one minute rest in between at 59-60. I really, really want to go sub 4 in the mile, do you think I'm close? What could you predict my time is right now? Thanks.

I'd say 4:02 or so, not quite yet. What other kinds of things have you been doing? Where are you going to run a mile?
I think you can go under 4 if you want it bad enough. The workouts are only part of it. The other part is wanting something so bad that you can make every cell in your body hurt to do it. The kind of desire that says "I don't care what kind of pain I have to go through to do this, I will do it, dammit." If you can honestly say these things, then you are ready. Good luck and keep us posted when you go sub 4!
The mile's all about positive splits, so I would say if you can get out around 1:50 through 800, you'll have a great shot.
I also did a workout a few days ago which was 6x800 avg about 2:10 for each one. However, I didn't feel too good when I was doing them and it was pretty windy on the back stretch.
I am going to be running a mile probably at the Payton Jordan Invitational on May 4th, and attempt a sub 4.
Another workout I might do is 16x200 with 30 seconds rest and avg. about 27-28.
Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely keep you all updated.
I am sorry to say, but I dont know how hard those workouts are for you and what your mileage is but you would really need to dig deep. I am saying more like 4:05-07
I am running about 60 miles a week right now and I was running the workouts pretty hard.
whats your personal best? I am just going off of daniels charts. did some1 rly make a thread calling me a fag?
Way off dude. 10X400 sub 60 with 1 min recovery is not a 4:05-07 workout. In my day I could have run two 4:07s with 15 mins rest when I was in shape for that workout. Depending on the athlete, you should be really close to 4.
I find it really hard to believe that someone doing a workout of that level is asking this question. It's possible you could, but this work out doesnt show it. 4:05ish. Good luck though. Kick like hell.
4:15
that's just my guess though.
let me know if I'm right.
