don't forget the whistle-man in the steeple. and J kaz in the 800.
don't forget the whistle-man in the steeple. and J kaz in the 800.
800: O'Brien, Childs, DiRuzza
1500: O'Brien, Lasch, French
5000: Basista, French, Bowsher
10,000: Bowsher, Lewis, Adam
3000SC: Walters, Schneider, Thatcher
4x800: ONU, Berg, Otterbein
100: biacofsky
200: biacofsky
400: wilmington guy
800: hoban, garro, velliquette
1500: velliquette, hoban, the kid from wilmington that looks homeless
5000: swaiki, culy,
10,000: same
800: O'Brien, Childs, Mitchem
I see JO winning this handily with Childs and Mitchem running well against quite a few athletes doubling into this from the 1500
1500: O'Brien, Lasch, Bowen
Again, JO's 3:47 is gonna make 3:55-59 pretty easy, followed by a strong race out of Lasch. Look for Bowen from BW to be the darkhorse, he's had a strong season.
3000: JD, Thatcher, Schneider
JD will run away with it, and Thatcher has gotten 2nd in this race two years in a row, he may have enough kick left to do it again this year, followed by Schneider from otterbein who has ran solid all year. This will be a very exciting race from places 2-8.
5k: French, Basista, Hill
with a lot of the big guns doubling into this, this one will also be interesting. French and Basista look too strong to be beat, followed by a fresh Hill sneaking into 3rd by catching some of the 10k guys off guard.
10k: Bowsher, Lewis, Adam
These guys just look too strong to be beat at the 10k. Look for them to run as a pack and race eachother late for the win.
I really think this year is going to be very, very competitive. A lot of places are wide open after JO in the mid-distance events, JD in the steeple, and who knows what can happen in those events most athletes double in to. I see a lot of athletes pretty far down the lists to place high due to this if they pick the right event. Good luck to everyone this weekend!
DiRuzza just ran 1:54.9 this past weekend at Kenyon, squeaking out a win over French (1:55.XX), so I guess his name should be thrown in the hat in the race for 2nd in the 800.
Good observation about the men's MD events: the races for 2nd in all of those should be pretty exciting. A lot of guys could pretty easily end up anywhere from 2nd or fall back to 6th or even 8th.
I thought about that too, but I can see Diruzza doubling 1500/800 to score some points for his team, but if he just picks the 800, I would say the worst he'd place is 3rd. He is really having a great year as well.
What about on the women's side? For what it's worth here are my top 3:
800: Suffel, Chinn, Larrison
1500: Chinn, Scullion, Robertson
3000 Steeple: Meyers, Fey, ??
5000: Scullion, Reese, Robertson
10000: Bresson, McClaugherty, Pautsch
Reese has the leading time in the Steeple Chase and beat Scullion head to head at All Ohio in the 5k.
I'm assuming Reese will not be running the Steeple. If she does I could see her and Meyers battling it out in the Steeple. I still will go with Scullion in the 5K, I believe she can make up that 4 second difference from when they went head-to-head, just my opinion.
who cares about women's predictions? They should be in my kitchen making me dinner. And in there downtime they can be in my basement doing laundry. Especially Katie Winnings. Ahh, katie.
p.s. girls should definitely not steeple.
^ misogynistic quote of the night.
chicks jumping around in buns=awesome!
Maybe so, but Scullion is 10x hotter!
what about heather stalter from MUC...id love to stick my pole vault right up her water pit any day
Ummmmmmmm...what???
You know
CBW get out of here
Mount looks like the team to beat.
I just scored the heat sheets, and based purely on seeds, I had ONU with 183 and Mount with 177. I gave ONU the win in the 4x8 and set Mount at 4th in that (just a rough estimate). I didn't bother doing any other teams. It should be a barn burner.
One thing I noticed - Where the hell are all the hurdlers in the conference? Only 4 teams have men entered in the 110's. Nobody else has hurdlers?
Basista in the 10k - well played by Mount. That race just got very interesting.
