well, that baki kid is likely already in <1'43 shape :
1'44.8i solo - knock off 1s for advantage of having a pacer outdoors ( & better pace distribution ) & maybe another 1s for indoor to outdoor considerations
that's getting him to ~ 1'42.8 currently
maybe low/mid 1'42 by peak this season
still miles off the wr, but it's a start !
As soon as Wariner enaters the race. :)

Wrong
well
we have example of kip's 1'42.67i wr ( also run solo ) which was comparable quality to his outdoor runs
knock off 2s for him ( as above with kaki ) & that gets you to ~ 1'40.6
now, his outdoor wr is 1'41.1, but a better run was his prior wr of 1'41.2 run off ridiculous splits of ~ 48.5 / 52.7
run more conservatively off a 49.5 that day, he musta been worth near a mid-1'40, which is not inconsistent with indoor conversion above
i'd still assert kaki is currently in <1'43 shape
never because we can catch EPO athletes now
Not for awhile. Guys aren't even running 1:42 nowadays, though I guess Kaki is the future. Still, he's about 2 seconds off and that's a lot of time in the 800. Can he go out in 49.high/50.low and hold it? We'll probably find out in an outdoor race. No one else looks too good to get anywhere near it outside of him.
I am sick of that drug talk. f*** you, you have zero evidence of that. you ruin the sport by being a dick. i hope you never have a good run again.
It's too bad we never got to see Noah Ngeny take a serious shot at it.
why did he quit? I forgot.
He had a car accident and never really recovered. Ran in the 3:30s but I don't think he ever broke 3:30 afterwards.
Kipketer was clean. Ask anyone who knows. Even guys who accuse Geb (which I think is complete bullshit) will say that Wilson was clean.

i'd be surprised if ngeny couda gone quicker than high-1'42 back in '99
of course, if he'd dropped the 1500 at the time & concentrated only on the 800, maybe close to ?1'42-flat...
