Marijuana remains illegal, but you can buy salvia at your local gas station? An example of the stupidity of our drug laws.

It is really stupid. Don't do salvia... it's not fun at all.
Not at a gas station, but a local head shop maybe.

What's sad is that I hear of this sudden mobilization toward outlawing Salvia by ignorant lawmakers. It's obviously not a problem, most have never even heard of it, and yet they are trying to outlaw it. Why?
They will do more harm than good (in their eyes, which would mean bringing attention to the availability of salvia) with their actions of trying to outlaw it.
But hey, our politicians are just full of good intentions, aren't they?
like any psychotropic...be careful. Have a sitter with you.
As they say, "Your mileage may vary". You could have a REALLY bad time w/ Salvia.

Great, does this mean the government is going to come rip all the salvia I have growing in my garden?
I love salvia. Also, every couple years as more people find out abuot it there is rumored to be a movement to outlaw it. This movement has never gained traction and was stronger a few years back than it is now.
salvia makes everything look like legos
I'm scared as shit of salvia.
Every morning I grind salvia & morning glory seeds to make tea with. What a way to start your day!
Of course it's legal. You can't outlaw spit, dumbass.
I heard about Salvia only a couple weeks ago and read about some people that tried it. It seems quite trippy. A guy that took it said he perceived everything to be sliced into 2 inch sections, and each section was rotating in a different direction than the one above it.
It ought to stay legal. Anyone claiming it should be made illegal must also want to make alcohol illegal. I bet if you went out and asked a bunch of folks in their 40s and above what it was they'd have no idea. Most kids probably don't either. But once people start clamoring for it to be illegal it will become much more popular.

I beg to differ. I recently found out that my 53 year old mother knows how to bong beers has had lots of experience with it in her high school/college days. Old people know what all the same stuff is today, just by a different name, most likely.
when will they outlaw jenkem?

I would bet you $100 that a poll of 1,000 adults between the ages of 40-65 would show that most don't know what salvia is. I would think less than 25% would, maybe 10%.
I am not quite 40, but I had never heard of this compound. I have some experience with psychotropics, too, although not lately.
If they are going to outlaw it they will be coming after your nutmeg next.
