I've been having conversations with my athletes about the tremendous value of the long run. I'd be interested in knowing the distance of the collegiate long runs that you all do (or have done), the physiological justifications (eventhough I know them, it would be helpful if my athletes read what you folks would write on the subject), as well as the progression of the distances during the summer and the cc season. Sorry to sound like I'm assigning homework, but any help you all could give would be much appreciated. Would really like to hear from the female athletes on the board because sometimes my toughest task is selling the longer runs to freshmen. THanks in advance for the help.
