How long can you hold your breath while just sitting there in front of your computer screen? If I take several deep breaths(hyperventilate) first I can do 3 mins, but I just wondered what is typical.

30 seconds! Wow when i was a kid i used to time myself when i went swimming and i got close to 2 minutes. Even after a few tries i am still getting 30 seconds.
60-70 seconds. Probably longer but i freak out when I can't breathe.
about 2 1/2 minutes.
only about 45 secs.
3 minutes in front of your computer...you could be cheating without knowing it or realizing. i've gone 3:03 underwater before. it was hella painful.
i can hold my breath for 4 minutes till my nose start bleeding
i lied, smell it, thats right
ive done 2 minutes before.
at the moment best i could muster unless under extreme under water competition situation like last time would be 1 minute to 1 minute 30. i am very competetive.
Got bored one night driving back from college and wanted to see if I could hold me breath for 2 mile markers. I ended up holding my breath for 3 miles. It was 2m 24secs, obviously I was speeding pretty bad towards the end.
I can do a little over 2 minutes right now. Probably not real smart but I practice while driving home from work sometimes when I'm bored.
Hijack - would practicing holding your breath have any impact (positive or negative) on running training?
I just did 1:00 and it was getting painful. I need to practice this.
Just times myself at 61 sec. Probably could do a bit longer, but I don't see myself going much longer than 1:30.
2:42 just now. Back when I was running consistently I broke 3:20.
Zatopek used to hold his breath between telephone poles. I guess it could be a form of anaerobic training without running fast or using hills?
1:30, back when I used to swim a lot I could do 2 minutes easy
Without any hyperventilating, I can only go 45 seconds without feeling extremely claustrophobic. If I hyperventilated, I bet I could go 1:30.
Three months ago I swam 120 feet underwater. I don't know how long it took. But I did prepare with hyperv.
I've done 5 mins before.
Couldn't stand afterwards. Navy seal? still not there yet.
10 billion years!
