I mean that's very good improvement but not unheard of by any means.
Its completely f**&*%ing unheard of you dumb mofo! 17 to 14:42?? With years of experience?
No need to resort to name calling. Yaseen Abdalla (also from Texas), for instance, went from 17:24 as a junior (much slower than this guy) to 14 flat 3 mile as a senior (converts to 14:31 5K). If you want to be technical his 5K pr was 15:08 but he also got 6th at NXR South which is much closer to the 14:00 3 mile mark than the 15:08 5K. Also he started with a 20:22 5K as a junior so he did this progression in a year less than this kid. I know 2 kids from my state this year who went from low-mid 16s to sub/low 15 this year (on much harder courses than the Texas state meet) so I think I could find a few more if I cared to look.
Henry Payne (Minneapolis Washburn MN) - 18:49 5k in 2022 -> 16:51 in 2023 Jameson Guertin (Minneapolis Washburn MN) - 16:02 5k in 2023. He never broke 19 minutes until that year. Matt Cota (Minneapolis Washburn MN) - 18:05 5k in 2014 (first 5k of the season 20:44) -> 16:05 in 2015 Joseph Minor (Minneapolis Washburn MN) - 17:58 5k in 2014 (first 5k of the season 19:33) -> 16:09 in 2015 Thomas Kessens (Minneapolis Washburn MN) - 20:18 5k in 2015 -> 17:31 in 2016 -> 16:27 in 2017 Hamza Ali (Minneapolis Washburn MN) - 19:13 5k in 2012 -> 16:45 in 2013 Dominic Haugland (Minneapolis Washburn MN) - 18:43 5k in 2020 -> 16:39 in 2021
