Anyone have a link to all-time collegiate records for d3 and d1?
Specifically, I'm trying to find the fastest mile time ever run in d3.

I saw that and was like holy shit!!! 12 guys under 3:58. I wonder how man will be in the Olympics someday, that is just stacked!
With that just being NCAA's, tactical no doubt, the All-Time Record has definitely got to be under 3:50.
i saw ryan bak run 4:01 at BU. that was pretty awesome.
for about 15 seconds i thought that was full mile
wow. just wow.
Do you know if those lists only include the top times ran while the athletes were still in college, or is it the fastest times DIII runners have ever run (including post-collegiately)
here ya go wrote:

ass.
The times were run while the athletes were in college, at least to my knowledge. I had Dan Henderson as a biology professor and I know he ran faster than 13:50 after college.
Thanks, that's that I figured because I knew Moen has run faster the 14:00 for the 5k
Karl Paranya (Haverford college) ran 3:54.83 post-colleigately
what about indoor?
Gotta love Google.
I think Kosgei will go under the indoor record of 4:04.46 in the mile set back in '75.
As of the middle of May '07, this was the list of top male DIII 1500 times:
All-Time NCAA Division III Bests – 1500 Meters
3:39.84 Karl Paranya, Haverford 1997
3:40.91 Nick Symmonds, Willamette 2006 Nike Farm Team Invite
3:41.56 Tom Tuori, Rochester 1987 New England TAC Champs
3:41.98 Will Leer, Pomona-Pitzer 2007 Occidental Invite (1)
3:43.15 Sandu Rebenciuc, Augustana 1992 Indianapolis
3:43.75 Jason Bernstein, Haverford 2001
3:44.50 Kevin Foley, Haverford 1982 NCAA Championships (1)
3:44.71 Liam O’Neill, Haverford 1986 Princeton Invitational
3:44.9 Mark Beeman, Brandeis 1985 Hoya Invitational
3:45.05 Jeff Wachter, UW-Stout 1984 NCAA Championships (1)
3:45.0 Dave Cooper, Mount Union 1996
3:45.0 Matt Leighningher, Haverford 1992 Boston Hi-Performance

Sorry, didn't find the mile times--didn't want to spend more than a minute looking--but I bet our friend Google could help you, as it did me...
Dude, these are 1500m times, not mile times. Big difference. I think that there have only been 2-3 DIII runners to break 4 minutes in the mile - Karl Paranya, Rob something from Amherst college in the 90's (I think that he did) and Nick Symmonds. There may be one or two more, but Paranya was the first in 1997 or so.
Danny Henderson was a teamate in college (well not that I ever could run with him). I hope he was a good professor. Does he do any running at all now or then? He ran for Athletics West after college and eventually ran in the very low 13:20's I believe.
BTW, now that I've looked at the list I discern a trend...
Imagine running breaking 3:44 as a DIII guy and being almost four seconds away from your school record!

is that the champs record, or are you saying all time? could be a champs record if they used to run it...but it's definitley not d3 all time...not sure what is, but i know bak ran at least 4:01 indoors as a senior at BU (i saw it) and here's a semiverifiable linke, i'm too lazy to find the meet results.

I had him as a professor at Centre College in Danville, KY. We would often see him running around town and he'd sometimes stop by our cross country practices and give us some words of wisdom. Cool guy. Last I heard, he was teaching at Centenary (sp?) in Louisiana. I'm sure you could investigate on the university's website and find an email address if you wanted to contact him. I'm sure he's still running.
