What kind of times would one have to run in the 1500 or the 5k to get a contract? I’m not talking about getting paid, Just equipment and travel?
I am not a fast runner, just wanted to know?

Umm maybe 13:40 for travel/ shoes and stuff.
3:38 for travel/ shoes and stuff
anyone thoughts?
i would say 3:37 or faster or 13:25 or faster in your senior year in college
Sorry i thought it said if you want to get paid. 3:40 and 13:40 sound about right for just shoes and travel
sounds about right.
But if you wanna get paid well, you need to hit the Olympic A standard.
Not that it would necessarily cover kit and travel in entirety, but there are sponsorship opportunities out there (with local businesses [especially--and this will seem obvious--specialty running stores] and local running clubs) for runners of much lesser caliber than that. As far as getting some sort of deal with a local running store, it's more important that you be involved in the local running community (coaching, doing local races, being known) than it is that you're a stud.
