In my job search on craigslist I came across an ad that looked like it might be ok. Then I read the posting... (I've edited the posting to not include any contact info or location. It just didn't seem right.)
HOTEL FRONT DESK MANAGER
We are currently accepting applications for a fulltime hotel front office manager. Previous hotel experience is required. All applicants must be reliable, friendly, and hard working. Flexible schedules are preferred. Expected hours are 45 per week, pay rate starts at a $25,000 per year. Apply in person at

So, you're going to MANAGE people for more than the "standard" 40 hour week. Oh, and you're gonna need flexibility in your schedule. ie., 7-day availability.
Let's not forget you need to have already worked in the industry, earning what must have been peanuts, so you can earn a whopping $25,000 as a manager.
No, I don't have to apply. But maybe, just maybe, if we either compensated our workers properly, OR didn't work them more the norm, we'd get better service AND the workers would be happier.
Oh, while 45 hours may not be a lot of hours to some, don't forget that most likley that means this manager is working five 10-Hour days. Most places do not pay for your lunch hour. Yet, they'd expect you to "hop to it" if something came up while you were on break.
