who?
Why are Hansons not able to land big time recruits? I'm talking about guys that have run sub 13:50 5k, expecially after the trials success. No disrespect meant here.
Allen was 25th in the mens marathon trials

Probably because they aren't looking for 13:50 guys. Not unless they are willing to run 160 mpw.
How many sub 13:50 guys became available since the trials? I am shocked that they are bringing anyone in NOW. June is when everyone makes decisions on where they will continue.

They're a distance program. 29 low 10k guys are perfect for them. I know Jellema fits that bill, not sure about the others.
Yolanda Flimino 2:43 SF Mar champ
Julias not running for Hansons. She's running for Team USA in Mammoth.
...and Hanson's doesn't back me because I'm not fast enough, so be it. So why the array of slow women?
Fred who?

who, who and who? Are these like 35 minute chicks? Hansons has blown a lot of dough on chicks that don't run even close to elite times.
You really don't know who Julia Lucas is? Do you EVER follow the sport?
Do you think 29:59 is good?Because it is not.

Yes, I do think 29:59 is "good". In the grand scheme of things, with the average 10k time being in the low to mid 40's, it is "good". In fact it's very good, just not good enough for Hanson standards, and as I mentioned, thats fine. I have a job. So again, why the slow chicks? Their typical female performer runs a 36 minute 10k. None have done anything exceptional that I recall. They should funnel that money into the men's program where it could be better spent. This Joslyn guy is decent regional runner, but I didn't think he was Hanson material, where/when was his 'breakthrough'?
Where did you pull that low to mid 40's stat from? If you look at actual road race results that's probably a top 10% time. For talented runners (male or female) that's an easy training run.
Suggest you check the Women's OT thread. After Kastor it's a wide-open race. Nobody will be shocked if a no-name makes the Olympic team. Giving some women the opportunity for a breakthrough is the much smarter option.
Making a dent on the men's side is much more difficult.
Joslyn went to Cortland State and "blossomed" there. Maybe having training partners and a pogram like Hansons will lead to a breakthrough.
You mean Brooks has blown a lot of dough on them.
Then you clearly have a poor understanding of what criteria the Hansons use to select runners. They clearly know better about what it takes to build and run a successful elite development program than you do.
