I've decided that I need to train for and run a fast mile - I'm fed up with people asking me what my best mile is and then trying to explain that it was the first mile of a 5k.....
I've been running longer distances (mostly half marathons)and all my training has been focused on them. I have never trained or raced a mile (not even a TT)
I run 60-70MPW so have some basic endurance but haven't ever focused on raw speed.
If I focus on the mile for a month can I get a reasonable time? (eg. the prediction from something like mcmillan running calculator based on my best half marathon)
what sort of training should I do for that month?
- thanks
