Post successful or unsuccessful stories about going from a trainer or orthotics to a minimalist shoe. Please include details about the transition and any injuries that were involved. I don’t really want this to turn into a debate about minimalism, just let the stories speak for themselves.
For me, I was injured throughout high school and my first few years of college. I went through 6 stress fractures and a number of shin splint problems. I tossed a pair of orthotics that I got a stress fracture from in high school. I've gradually gone from heavy trainers to Nike Zoom RS, very light trainers. I've been injury free for 8 months now doing higher mileage than ever.
