Maybe this is old news, but I just heard it last night. Letsrun's favorite rags to riches story, Trent Briney, has been dropped from the Hansons program.

If Trent is reading this, there is a place for him on the Samsung Korea Marathon club team, in Seoul, South Korea.
He will work 4 hours per day teaching English, and the rest of the time will be devoted to training (twice a day), Korean classes, and relaxation.
Contact me for details.
Any other runners? Basic credentials needed: 10,000/<30"
Marathon - <2:22"

Ghost,
My committee has changed the standards to 2:19 to be eligible for that job. We feel that 2:22 sucks and we don't want to see it rewarded in any fashion.

Ghost, you run your own team?
Im sure this is common knowledge on these boards, and I have been around for awhile, but never knew that.
Just looked at the Hansons web site. He is no longer on the list of athletes.
Does this mean that they have room for another athlete?
can one be a "one hit wonder" 2:12 marathoner?

It appears so...I tend to think that w/o the Hanson's program, Briney will not run competitively again.

Count me in as Briney fan. Also 2004, was the first glimpse of Brian Sells competitive mindset for many of us. A different strategy this time, a different result.
