Now back to the topic. The other sources of information seem to indicate that Daniels has done a lot of research and as some have said, acted as a sounding board, but has not actually coached someone to the top. I am starting to think his contribution to running coaching is over-rated in the sense that if he was so good he would by now have a swag of gold medals.
It brings to mind an interesting comment from Peter Snell that basically stated scientists have not made any valuable contributions on how to train - but they assist in comfirming what coaches already know. Perhaps Daniels is on the scientist side - lacking that little bit og instinct that coaches have- that thing inside that tells them they can push a little further even though no-one has before and others tell me not too!!
