My question is this: After the obligatory aerobic base building pahse and improvement in threshold, should I run say 4 x mile at my goal pace with long rest intervals and gradually decrease the rest, or run these at a slower (date pace)with a consistent rest intervals and gradually increase the pace?
My HS coach used the latter and I seemed to have plateaued. Now that I'm out of HS, will the former be a more efficacious method to get me where I want?
Thoughts?
