Golfer John Daly is promoting his new memoir, "My Life in and out of the Rough." I heard him interviewed on WHYY's "Fresh Air" yesterday. He's a fascinating character. Here's a great quote when asked about how other golfers now engage in fitness routines to improve their game:
"Let 'em go puke and all that stuff, and run and work out. This ain't football, you know. I walk seven miles a day. What more do I need to do?"
And:
"I enjoy smoking a cigarette, drinking a Diet Coke when I get up in the morning, and going to the first tee. I believe that nicotine and caffeine equals protein. That's my line."
