Who's Your Favorite Unknown D1 XC Automatic Qualifier?

OK, I did say "more anonynmous," which implies that I'm interested in those runners who are not so well-known. Besides McDougal, Korir, and a few others, most of these guys are pretty obscure. I'm looking for reasons to cheer for them come Monday. Is there anything that might predict one of them will have a breakthrough performance?

Tyler Hill from Arkansas. What happened to all of those Ugandans and Kenyans from South Alabama (Rono, Okello, etc.)? I thought they were just juniors last year???

Since "anonymous individual automatic qualifiers" was the requirement, I vote for Colby Wissel from Kansas. He has been consistently placed amongst the higher finishers in all his races. Plus his homeless man beard is an instant advantage.

what about trent hoerr. He has quietly made quite a name for himself in the big ten.

Gotta love the Craig Leon story. A 9:47 guy in high school... walked on the Ohio squad even though the coach told him he wasn't DI material. After redshirting to come back for a 5th year of cross and track the Ohio track team was cut. Instead of transferring, he stayed and became a natinoal qualifier in cross. Good luck craig..... Go Bobcats.

I'm also going with Colby Wissel of Kansas. This guy is a complete animal who leaves it all out on the course, finished 26th last year, I expect at least that out of him this year as he seems to be peaking at the perfect time.

jeremy johnson of new mexico....this guy is an animal and is going to leave it all out on the course this is only te second time he has finished a season healthy and the last time was 07 outdoor and he was 8 in the 10k he is an animal my bet goes on him being the guy to break through

Pat Sovacool, although he has had great success at the 1500 / mile distance in college, is another pretty cool story as far as cross goes. In high school, he rat at the state cross country meet a grand total of one time, finishing 7th from last his junior year in high school. Four years later he's running at nationals.

He's nowhere on the list the OP posted because he qualified with his TEAM, the Hogs

i'll go with jeff scull, if only because i went to high school in syracuse and i would have liked to see them make nationals.

Hill doesn't count? Why? Did I overlook the rules of this voting game or is it some type of way rejecting my voter's rights?
