Name a guy past his prime, a guy with two good marathons ever under his belt and a...guy.
Who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?
The correct response is "Who are the real names of Cary Grant, Tony Curtis, and Joan Crawford?"

FW, which three marathons are you going to throw out of the list of good marathons:
2:09 at Chicago
1st at 2004 US Oly Trials
12th at 2004 Oly Games
2:11 at Boston for 5th place.
2:13 at Boston on a very hot day for 4th place.
Cool. Now can you possibly defend such a pronouncement? WHY should those particular three be going? And who would get to make such arbitrary decisions. It seems to me that the top 3 should be going and nothing I've seen lately tells me that you've listed the top three. Huggs Becky
Khalid probably will be going since Ritz is going to shoot for the 10k. Culpepper is past his prime and even at his prime never did much of note except winning the trials. Cox hasn't really done anything ever except trained hard.
Sell is a durable, smart racer who will probably place well even if he doesnt medal...and his "lunch pail" style will probably attract alot of people which is a good thing. Khalid or Ritz would both have a shot at a medal if they stay healthy through the training and Hall probably has the most potential of any US marathoner ever. I think we have a great team.

When that guy was comparing Culpepper to Sell and saying Culpepper deserved a spot over Sell, then only the top two in your list were good marathons. The rest, while certainly not bad, were definitely not so good that a person would rather have Culpepper on the team rather than the guy who earned the spot.
COX!!
Is this a joke. Seriously..............,
So when you say,\"all wrong..\" what really you mean is we have a U.S. Marathon team selected through an unbias and equal system that allows for athletes to compete for their spot rather then being arbitrarily picked by some committee, who would have a difficult time completing that task fairly?
We should be sending i love peeps, the 4:30 miler and dunes runner with Flagpole Willy as an alternate.
I mean what the hell? Ryan Hall? Ritz? Sell? Geeez.

I don't go as an alternate. I'm on the team flat out or not at all.
Do any of them have a qualifying time? We might be allowed to send only one of them.

They all have the time that was worry when Amercians didn't have good marathoners. The time is 2:14 and even if it stayed at 2:12 they would all still have the time.

I am trying to find the logic in that the other 3 (2 top five finishes at Boston and 12th at Oly Games) are "certainly not bad, were definitely not so good" regardless of the situation that you comparing to.
Why is this copy-cat troll thread on the first page and not the ORIGINAL troll thread on the subject:

This thread is not even slightly believable as opposed to mine. Bullsmack!
Not so fast there Josh. You do realize that the Beijing Games are to be held under a nasty cloud of heinous pollution?
Where does Sell train? Detroit!
He will be better prepared than all those high end elite championship flite marathoners going to high alpine resorts breathing the rarified clean crisp air...do I need to go on with this or do you get it yet?
Imagine a side trip to Cleveland for added aerobic "specific training."
KK, Ritz & Hall might want to come down to Detroit too to grab 150 miles with Sell breathing some Motor City air quality.
How can you say Sell won't be among the best prepared athletes at Beijing? Hansons is showing the way!
