What cracked me up about those movies is how seriously these guys took some silly Karate tournament. Especially in the 3rd one, where they go to immensely elaborate measures just to get Danny to even go to the tournament so their student can take his title. They beat him and his girlfriend up, break into his home, follow him through the woods and dangle him over a cliff, Terry Silver poses as a nice guy and "trains" him to betray Mr. Miyagi, all so they can win a match against him in the Valley tournament. Unbelievable. I mean, I love watching the Karate Kid trilogy. But they are really hysterical.
Yeah that seems stupid until you hear about stories that actually occurred. I don't remember all the details but there was a case in Texas in the '90's where the mother of a high school cheeleader arranged to have the mother of rival cheerleader murdered. She did this to psychologically damage the rival cheerlader prior to tryouts.
