Wearing a GPS watch? They probably tracked him by computer as someone else noted.
Seriously, I was officiating a game where a player showed up late. He runs onto the field, and I notice that he's wearing a watch. I tell him to take it off (safety reasons), and he hands it to me. It was the watch to a Garmin 305.
I asked him about it, and he raises his shirt to show me the hrm strap. He was going to measure his heartrate and how much distance he covered during the math.
How far had he run...5-6 miles or so?
mid fielders run the most, around 7 miles per match.
yes, he'd run 7000+, wayne rooney was at 7700+ when they shoed his stat ca. 75 minutes. is it standard now for these pros to wear gps devices?
i dont think gps would be precise enough to pick up the running they do.. more likely its just a computer tracking movement through a variety of video feeds
