I was talking about this yesterday with a teammate of mine. When was the last time any of you did an all out balls to the wall sprint; Like back in the day when you were a kid type sprint? Think about it. Probably not in a very long time. I’m not talking about 200 repeats or strides or anything like that. I mean like as fast as your legs can possibly take you. Gerryjogger put it into my mind when he was on one of his rants, and, though he can be preachy he made a good point about how some mid distance and distance guys can go their entire career without really gutting one out.
After the conversation I tried it on the track. Not striding or anything, just bam right into it, as fast as I can go. I consider myself fast, but I was flailing everywhere and looked, at best, functionally retarded. Try it. Thanks and have a sensational evening.
