During track season last year I noticed that I could not bend my right middle toe back beyond a certain point, because the pain would have been excruciating. I could run without feeling it, but I simply could not bend it back beyond a certain degree.
I could the summer off and it still has not improved--perhaps I can bend it one degree farther back. Assuming this is not a stress fracture, and I have pinpointed the pain to the metatarsal, what could this be?
My sports therapist has not been able to tell me, and I'm afraid of running on it, even though I don't feel it when I do run.
What on earth is it?
