I posted a while back regarding the need for reconstructive surgery for hallux rigidus. I suffered osteomyelitis (bone infection) after the removal of a cyst. The infection created 'septic arthritis.' I know CO-Runner had a resection + microfracture surgery with success.
Anyone else out there have the following, and willing to comment on success? I want to be able to run when all is said and done.
1) Hemi-implant
2) fusion of joint
3) resectioning / etc. of joint
I am in a position to have the choose the surgery -- and want to know the 'results' any of you have had.
ALSO - I am seeing a podiatrist. Is there a benefit / hinderance between podiatrist and ortho. surgeon with foot / ankle experience?
Thanks
