good post, vt alum. the team that deserves to win is the one that scores more points. nobody should feel worse for v-tech because they lost a football game. winning doesn't somehow make the tragic events go away or seem any better.
what is great is that the game and atmosphere symbolizes that life goes on and life will still be great at v-tech.
as for the game, the weather obviously played a role in how well the offenses were able to function. matt ryan did an amazing job down the stretch making play after play when their season was on the line on the road. that's an awfully tough place to play, especially at night. bc is for real and matt ryan should be the heisman front runner at this point. they got a little luck, but every national championship type team needs a little along the way. i don't quite understand the basis for saying bc doesn't deserve their number 2 ranking. they just beat a top 10 team on the road at night and they're undefeated. you could make a case for a number of teams, but anyone saying bc doesn't deserve their ranking is out of their mind. and can we please stop with the "half the sec teams and half the pac teams could beat bc" type statements? the sec is 5-5 vs. bcs conference opponents this year. their rankings are based on beating each other, not beating anyone out of conference (other than lsu beating v-tech early in the season, which is a solid win, albeit a home win)
tomorrow night will be rocking in the beav. last team to beat ohio state during the regular season: psu in 05 same venue, same 8 pm start time, same type of weather.
