Wow what would it do to athletics if it is Craig Mottram?

Nothing...very few people know who he is in the US outside of this message board.
Mottram was the first guy who came to my mind. When was the samples taken? Track has been over for a while now, and he wasn't exactly running that well this summer other than that spectacular 8:03 back in June.
These things seem to follow the same pattern.
Step 1: Announcement of unnamed track athlete that tests positive.
Step 2: Wild speculation about which high profile athlete it is.
Step 3: Announcement of athlete is made, and it turns out to be a hammer thrower that nobody has heard of.
Somehow I think if it was Mottram, it would have been leaked all over the place.
Mottram is really the only Australian I know of, I'll admit he came to mind but he is the only one I could name anyway. That's part of the problem now with drugs. We hope no one is using them but at the same time we expect everyone to use them, therefore we wrongly judge some people while others slide by.
its an athlete not even registered with athletics australia and he is appealing the decision to ban him because of this

Why post on a message board simply to show the world how ignorant you are?
Mark Fountain is another one, but I'd be shocked if it was him. Doesn't strike me as a drug user.
starting young if he hasn't even been named. Who are the parents? Is it a boy or a girl? Why are they doping him or her already? Isn't breast milk enough?
its a sprinter...this article has a lot more info than the one on the frontpage...

K, i looked up the results from the daylesford meet, and basically everybody there are nobodies (to aussies, not to americans) except for 1 person. And that person is registered with Aths Aus and has competed this year, so its not him.
But yeh, the athlete who tested positive is def not an international athlete like mottram or fountain or anything. chances are, no one has heard of this person before.
Unnamed?
I wonder how he/she answers the phone? What name is left for restaurants when waiting for a table? How did his/her parents call for dinner?
In Australia, what they call "professional" running is that ridiculous olden days crap where a bunch of total shit hacks who can't cut it in real races run in handicapped races. There is betting on it and therefore prize money, hence the "professional" name. The level of comp is like your local fun run/road race in the US.
It is only run by hacks because to do any good you must cheat the system to get a good handicap - this means always foxing and never running to your ability in a non-handicapped race. Obviously only people who will never go far in real running can afford to do this. Occassionally in their big events a big name (real) runner is invited to compete and given a good handicap for the excitement factor of someone winning off the back mark, but they usually still get beaten by a 40 something year old man who has cheated the system in a massively obvious fashion, who then celebrates like they've actually achieved something.
It doesn't surprise me one bit that one of these people is a drug cheat. It does not reflect at all on the real Australian athletes (Mottram etc), or Athletics Australia etc. This handicapped racing league is a completely separate organisation, full of corruption, cheating, and general wankers.
QFT!!!
f*** i didnt quote it...my badi was talking bout this...
