I'm running my second marathon in about a month and had a couple of questions on how I can run better than last year.
I was thinking about taking more gels but they are only offered at miles 18 and 22 in the race. Should I bring a couple of packets and put them in the mp3 pocket on the back of my shorts? I think this might help me keep my energy up.
Also I'm not totally sure what pace to run. I've run a 70 minute half and have been putting in some good 20 milers but I haven't run any long tempos. I'm thinking of trying to run consistent 5:40's and hopefully just sit in a pack for the first 10 to 20 miles and make it as easy as possible for myself.
Let me know your thoughts on both of these issues.
