Is it better to do afternoon doubles after a hard morning workout, or after a morning recovery/easy run?
I've heard that a light easy run in the morning will raise HGH levels for several hours afterward, so that your afternoon running will be easier/better/faster.
I don't know if it works the other way.
Yeah, the last post is right on. If you're going to do doubles, do your harder run in the evening and the shorter one in the morning. If you're only doing a few doubles per week make them on the days that you have hard workouts in the afternoon.
Definitely better after a hard morning workout. Work hard on your hard days and recover on recovery days. I do all my workouts in the morning and I've always felt like a double after a hard workout helps shake the crap out of my legs. Plus, it gives you an easier recovery day, both physically and psychologically.
