i can see why they might hate us. morality isn't universal, and they believe they're doing the right thing.

at the same time, I'm honestly a liberal, and I can't see why anyone would hate somebody so much as to fly multiple planes into the WTC.

that isn't defending justice, that's a deliberate political attempt to scare and undermine the United States. Of course, we are scaring and undermining them, but not so much before. And normally suicide bombing is a last resort.

Empathy is possible. But was it justified? We were and are, even more so now, overstepping our bounds, but 9/11 was certainly not justified.

There is a difference between demonstrating empathy and being a tool.

What should you DO about it? Get in your points when you can and answer the test questions how the instructor thinks you should. I doubt its worth the time or effort to try to "change the system"

I know I'm probably gonna let this slip as I am a person who is laid back and relaxed but I just wanted to see your opinions on this. I am also asking if others had personal experiences with this and how they deault with it.

Let me see if I have this right. One woman in your class made a comment you don't agree with and that, to you, is a liberal bias in your class? I'm not sure who's the bigger tool, her or you.

I just want to know when people will realize that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11!!!!!! The war in Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11!!! It's all about OIL!!!!

When I make a conservative comment on a current issue, my professor allows others to respond to it (however I usually can't respond back), when I ask to respond to something this is liberal, she doesn't allow me to respond saying it may start a debate and moves on, but she allows others she knows will agree to the liberal comment to respond.

Doesn't this sound like bias to you?

I myself am a liberal and if I got upset every time some horribly ill-informed conservative (or liberal, for that matter) made a dumbass comment I would just be angry all the time.

That person clearly thinks they have a grasp on the situation when they really don't. It is best not to argue with every idiot that comes along.

Are you trying to pass this course or express your ideology? From my experiences, profs will give you a good grade if you present a well reasoned and supported argument that is contrary to their views. You could probably argue that toppling Mosaddeq was best from a realist prospective and you could certainly argue that understanding the 9/11 hijackers is important in order to defeat their ilk, but that moral relativism can still be rejected. Then again, I've seen dumb, young Republicans do poorly in poli sci classes due to their own laziness and lack of ingenuity, and then pull the "party card."

Here's your problem, son: you actually care what a girl in your class thinks.

Maybe I'm a big old school, but when I was in college I paid attention to the girls in class to see what they were wearing, to see if they had big boobs and maybe were showing some cleavage, to see if they were wearing a thong, etc.

I didn't care what they said in class. If they were smart, I studied hard in the class and tried to talk to them about the class. If they were dumb, I offered them extra help. If they were conservative, I modified my views, and if they were liberal, I did the same.

But I guess you're way to worked up about politics to be having any fun in college. For shame.

Speak your mind in an intelligent manner. Use facts, not emotions. Inform, don't insult. Perhaps ask why in a poly sci class you are discussing empathy, which would be a topic better suited to anthropology or sociology. When you use facts, liberals typically shut up.

Why don't you get a real f***ing degree? Most people engage in politics as a hobby of sorts. Why would you study it in college? Sounds about as useful as a 'Guy who builds ships in a bottle' degree with a minor in Coin Collecting.

Go take some science classes. You'll be too busy studying useful shit -- and if you actually have a disagreement with what the teacher says is happening, hell, you might be in line for a Nobel prize or something.
