No qualification necessary. Anyone with $ to cover membership and entry is allowed. See www.usatf.org for more info.
The good thing is it will be warm in 2008
No snow and cold like in Boulder or muddy fields
like on Vancouver Island
You were born at the right time...
mark your calendar for February 16th
and don't forget to renew you USATF membership
If you were actually at the event in Boulder then you'd know that there was no snow or cold to speak of on the race course by the time the open races rolled around.
If you were from SoCal
you would have seen snow and cold
like we did that weekend
Maybe for you that is considered
balmy conditions in February
The white stuff piled in the background (off of the actual race course) is snow. The white on the foreground (on the actual race course) is sun reflecting off of mud. Where did I say "balmy", huh?
That wasn't cold at all. If you think it is you are a disgrace to the Toads/B Team!
Mac would be kicking your ass right now!
What he's saying is that these women, at least one of whom lives and trains in SoCal, are tougher than him and whoever else he thinks he speaks for.
They weren't even wearing gloves, how cold could it have been?!
Does that mean there are no other winter xc meets? Too cold?
What part of the country are you in? Club NW stages a meet in Seattle in January. Pete Julian puts on a meet in late January in Boulder. There are probably others, depending on how convenient they are for you to travel to.
There's also the USATF National Club cross country championships in Ohio on December 8.
Just pointing out the facts to the OP
ladyHarrier that next February
will be warmer than February 2007.
You can show me all the photos you want
and I can counter with photos of people
wearing gloves, headbands, hats and tights that day.
Shayne Culpepper and Kara Goucher were wearing gloves
and Deena was wearing that same Nike cap (with ear muffs)
she wore in Boston in April.
If you are coming to San Diego, pack light!
You're kind of dumb if you can't see Deena's ears exposed in those photos and know that since she's sponsored by asics that she wouldn't be wearing Nike gear either in Boulder in February or in Boston in April. Maybe Shayne and Kara (and Shalane) were overdressed. You didn't just say that 'it was colder in Boulder than it will be in San Diego', because if you had then you'd have been correct and nobody could have questioned you.
