I know KU was very interested in Boyer, but he supposedly told them he was too good for them. The best two recent Kansas high school guys both went to KU: Hefferon and Imgrund.
Have to remember another thing; KU is a relatively expensive public school in the midwest and it is very difficult to get academic aid there. Compare that to Arkansas, which is dirt cheap to begin with, or even Oregon that offers a substantial amount of academic aid based on high school GPA.
