The following article was in today's Columbus Dispatch...Maybe Mark Znidar should ask the men's track and field, men swimmers and divers and the women's lacrosse atheltes why they and their frinds are not going to the football games. Plus, ask former athletes and high school coahces of those sports and their freinds why they don't support the football program....
Football lost $1.9 million in 2006...yes they were one of the 64 Division I football teams out of 116 Division football teams that went to a Bowl Game...which they also lost money doing....

Calling all Bobcats fans missing action
What is up with Ohio University football fans?
It was San Diego-type weather in the foothills of the Appalachians on Saturday, and flip-flops, sunglasses, shorts and T-shirts were the order of the day.
With a pretty good Bobcats team playing Wyoming, an intriguing opponent from the Mountain West Conference, there were no excuses to play corn hole, barbecue or party on Court Street, at least until the sun went down.
Yet Bobcats fans obviously chose watching Ohio State-Northwestern on TV. The crowd count was announced at 16,781 in 24,000-seat Peden Stadium. A sizable chunk headed for the parking lot after halftime. Wyoming won a thriller 34-33.
The excuse used to be that Ohio was a big loser and that the band was the only attraction. This team is defending Mid-American Conference East Division champion.
The apathy goes back to last season, when 15,631 showed up for a win over Akron that clinched the division title. Students made up more than 60 percent of the crowd. That game was played at night in mid-November, but temperatures were in the 50s.
Ticket prices aren't wallet-zappers like at Ohio State. A season ticket can be had for $78, or $13 a game. A family of four can buy a package at $89, or $3.70 per ticket.
