Yes, another goofball leg shaving guy.

What's the design on his singlet and shorts?
the vast majority of people who gets regular massage therapy shave their legs... it only takes one pass with not enough oil and up comes all the leg hair.
That hurts more than deepest deep tissue work. And it's a safe bet that anyone who runs 140 miles a week gets massages. - at least guys who run 140 MPW and still run fast
you are a tool bag. names have nothing to do with performance. that is obvious

Here's my prediction: No one with a name like "Josh" or "Ryan" will ever stand on the podium at a major international competition.

not as quick as your name eh, you don't "get" the joke. It was funny.
Care to elaborate?
The question is will he recover from his effort.....in 6 weeks....yes he ran 2:19 but it is not the most optimal plan to run a marathon 5 minutes slower than your pr 6 weeks before the marathon....
Do you see Tergat or Kannouchi running 2:10 marathons as preparations for tough marathon course (+5min from their prs)?
What does Renato think?

Don't be such pansies. 6 weeks is plenty of time to recover from a 2:19 marathon considering the training that he has been doing.
Derek Clayton ran a 2:17 marathon 10 days before his 2:08 world record.

I think that he heard you the first FOUR times that you asked!
Are you inferring that Josh is the same caliber of runner as Derek Clayton?
The thread post mentioned that running a marathon 5 min outside his PR with 6 weeks to peaking for a major race was not optimal. It didn't question his manhood?
Training with limited foresight can make you a tough fast runner but it may not optimize your full potential nor win any major championships. You have to be systematic and intelligent. Hence, Derek Clayton was great at running fast times but was not a great competitor.
Arent you wannabes gonna rip into chuck engle, the second place finisher - he ran about 50 sub-2:50 marathons last yr??

In the results they have splits at 12 and 19 miles, why would they put mats at 12 and 19? 13.1 and 20 miles seem like more likely spots.
Maybe 12 and 19 were the turnaround points and mats were put down to keep cheaters from cutting the course. Just guessing.

I'm saying that if he is running 140 miles a week then recovering from a 2:19 is not a big deal. It also serves as a very good training run prior to running an all out marathon.
I know this from experience.
My guess is he will run really really well at the trials. But not make the team.
yay!!!!
There are two huge hills that are almost a mile in length.
you hit the same ones going out and on the way in. the rest is almost pancake flat. Many people at the finish said that he ran a 2:20 and changeaccording to the race clock.
