Hopefully both mens and womens races will be as good as London earlier this year. Is it on live in the US?

Un-frigging-believable. I could be sitting in a pub in downtown Liverpool watching Chicago, but here in NJ....all I'll get is ESPN's live coverage of Brazil vs. Luxemburgh in the World Synchronized Bagpipe Finals. Or sumptin' like that.
This is good news.
If someone is going to the expense of putting on a full expense outside broadcast with helicopters, mobile cameras, satellite vans...the full monty...then there is a much better chance that the race will be picked up nationally here.
The reason ESPN shows synchronized bagpiping and not marathoning is simply a matter of cost. It costs a friggin fortune to cover a 26 mile moving event outdoors. The networks can show infomercials for juicers on Sunday morning for nothing and get more viewers...so why spend a couple of million to cover a marathon?
