I need a place to do some cross-training, because I'm injured. What do you think of Gold's Gym? I was trying to decide between that & a local place. Any ideas?

As a former Gold's Gym employee, I feel like I can comment on this. Gold's Gym is a great gym to use if you have the cash. They will have everything you need and more. However, the downside is the 18-month minimum contract you must agree to. The enrollment fees and monthly dues will vary depending on your location. My suggestion to you is to check out the local place as well. I just signed up for a 3 month membership at a small local hole in the wall gym for $109 (no enrollment fee). They have Precor ellipticals and hammer strength equipment, so I'm happy. Stay away from gym memberships that make you use bankdraft. Anytime they have access to your routing number, they will continue to bill you (they don't tell you this). Choose a short-term one like 3 or 6 months and pay it in full.
