I wasn't impressed with the 57 third lap followed by a 53 last lap.
I miss you El G.

i must say that am a little bit disapointed too, i was expecting webb to give us a great show and i expected a ramzi vs webb last 100m sprint duel, but ramzi got boxed and lagat took it. but if you think about it this was a masterpiece from from lagat, beautiful planing, execution and a perfect timing. congratulation to lagat the second fastest miler ever.
well in athens EL G ran the third lap in 54 and the last lap in 51, but EL G was the world record holer... in osaka nobody would want or have the strenght to run a 54 third lap and finish the race... overall it was a great race, am a little bit sad for webb but lagat is a well deserving athlete.
you mean the second fastest at 1500

im sure some woudl want the strength...;)
It isn't entertaining without Morceli.
morceli is a great athlete but he was not as entertaining as EL G, to be honest he is not entertaining at all, EL G accelerate with 800m to go and produce a real SHOW and has an elegant running style, Morceli wait untill the last 400 or 300 meters to accelerate and his running style and artistic side is really ugly.
Here is a video of morceli against EL G 10 years ago in the 1997 world championships:

is that all what you can say to defend your point of view ?
clearly there is no EL G...
but I was really impressed with the WC's 1500... after watching all three heats, the two semi's, and the final i got to say that I thought the races were extremely interesting and exciting... many runners closely matched that employed different strategies in different rounds...
Considering you've offered nothing to refute it yet, there's no call to.
you clearly haven't seen his other races. 1991 world indoors he took the lead early and then ran each lap progressively faster for example. he didn't have to go earlier like ElG because he had a better kick compared to the rest of the competition. he could pretty much do whatever he wanted.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
