Being a 1600/3200 guy I agree that the 15 (or 16) is mid distance
I'd call it mid-distance, but I find the distinction to be pretty pointless. We take every race that people run and try to make them all fit into one of three catagories. This just doesn't make much sense to me. I mean most people would consider the 5k to be a distance race, but it is a completely different race from the marathon, which is also a distance race. In the same way, the 100 and the 400 are really very different events. The 1500 just is what it is. It's a 1500. There's really no need to classify it any farther.
