Hackman is great, I take nothing away from him. I just think Robert Duvall is a great actor and I'll see anything he's in:
From his first role as Boo Radley in "To Kill A Mockingbird", to Frank Burns in "M*A*S*H", Tom Hagen in the "Godfather" movies, Col. Kilgore in "Apocalypse Now", the absoulutely fabulous Bull Meacham in "The Great Santini", followed by the his amazing performance as Max Sledge in "Tender Mercies", Officer Bob Hodges in "Colors", Euliss "Sonny" Dewey in "The Apostle", heck I even liked him as Hub in "Secondhand Lions." Has this man made a bad movie, ever?
Another on the list is Steve McQueen, but that's a subject for a different thread.
