does lagat not seem to have some of the best racing tactics ever? he always seems to lurk in 2-4th place, never leading but never out of touch with the leaders. i'm not sure this is a skill that can be taught, i think it is innate. few have mastered it as well as he has. he also runs with great confidence and always appears relaxed and in control throughout the race. on top of all this, he can peak as well as anyone in history.
congrats to Lagat on his first world outdoor title, he is a classy champion.
some advice to Mottram and the rest of the 5k runners: don't let the race go out in 13:30 waiting for the kick b/c Lagat will drop a 50-51 last 400 and crush the field.
