Fair play to Rankin for his race. It's always good to get tactical experience racing - and winning - and he's doing this.
As for the 'no names' comment, that's lame. There are very few races of quality on in Europe during World Champs, perhaps this was one of the best available options.
If Rankin is fit and wants to race then good for him, and a 3.57 mile clocking is a worthy effort. It's not his fault if the opposition isn't faster.
Would the second poster have preferred Rankin sit in a bar or on a couch and not compete, or get out and race 'no names' and run sub4...
