I'll be spending a semester abroad in Europe; leaving very soon actually. I see this as my one chance to travel without having to worry about a job, morgage, family, et cetera. I don't want to "ruin" it by being OC about training and not pushing myself to travel all over Europe. Still I don't want to get too out of shape. I'll be joining a gym near my dorm (treadmill for winter, pool and weights to x-train), but plan to travel abroad as much as possible (2 out of 4 weekends a month). On these long weekends I will be with non-athletic types.
Who else has done the youth hostile-backpacking thing? Did you manage to fit in a run every/most days? How did you balance (overnight train) travel and hostile living with running?
Thanks.
