Much is being made about the credibility of the presidential candidates with regards to their statements about the Iraq War. Are you a Veteran, on active duty ? Which party do you belong to ?

In the U.S. there are the governors and the governed. The Republican Party is the party of the governors, the rest of the U.S. are the governed, and make up the bulk of those serving in the volunteer military forces. The true greatness of America is the result of the Republican Party, the political party of the ruling elite.
I was a registered Republican until I served in Iraq from 2003 into 2004. When I came home I immediately registered as a Democrat and have voted that way ever since.
However, I have not been very happy with the Democrats up to this point in their handling of the war since they took over the power of Congress.
Iraq is an absolute mess and we need to start slowly withdrawing troops now.
Active Duty Veteran and currently in the reserves.
Republican.
20 year veteran
Republican until March 2003.
now Independent
Almost 9 years Active duty so far. I come from a family of hard core democrats, but I'm an Independent.

Not regesitered with any party. Vote for whoever I feel is the best candidate. But consider myself a Republican.
Military members overwelhmingly vote republican.
Has anyone else noticed that most every television on miltary bases shows Fox news? Maybe it was just the places I was stationed. However, even when I went TDY, it was always Fox news.
22 year army retiree.
Consider myself Republican, however, I'm pissed off at both parties for their incompetence. Pissed off at both the White House and Congress. They are all power hungry morons who look in the mirror when things are successful and look out the window when things are going wrong.
Communist
I thought this was gonna be a thread about vet road runners and athletes. I call Gordon Lee, Dave Taylor, Martin Hula and Phil Parry as amongst the best
Veteran and former democrat. Turned coservative after returning from the mideast in the early 80's.
Started attending college and noticed my liberal democratic profs were all supporting the PLO and other militant Arab groups.
These same groups who had just slaughtered over 200 American peacekeepers.
There was no way I could remain in a party where people like this held such great influence.
I'm a dem like Pat Tillman.
VFW members are 2/3rds democrats.

Hopefully not exacly like Pat Tillman
Gulf War vet. Don't belong to a party, but the majority of my beliefs fall towards Republican so that's where I usually end up voting. I still base most of my voting on the issues that I think are important though and which candidate I think will do the best job dealing with them. I have no problem voting for a Democrat if he's going to do a better job for what this country needs at the time.
I seem to favor Republican candidates in local elections, but Democratic candidates in national elections.

I had generally voted Democrat until I served in Kuwait in Gulf War I; I have voted Republican (or Independent) ever since. I have no party affiliation.
