And you can make the assertion, with NO facts to support it but the ravings of a mad man and that does not make it so.
Prove it.
You claim those posts get deleted, yet there was a lengthy post a while back on whether S&g should be poster of the year in 2006, that was not deleted. I have never noticed his posts being deleted.
Give a couple examples of "typos" he has corrected.
Every mispelled word is not a "typo." A typo would involve missing a letter, transposing two letter.
"Too" for "two" is not a typo.
Posted by Spelling and grammer in another thread:
"1. Most spelling grammar corrections that I see here do NOT involve minor typos. That is, one does not see corrections where an "s" was typed instead of an "a" which are right next to each other on the keyboard. Those are real typos and almost everyone always lets those slip by. There are very few corrections of complex nuanced grammar issues. Corrections of the use of "there/their/they're" are a bit different..."

I don't want to take sides in this squabble, but even an impartial observer can stumble across the obvious:
"Its "deaf" not "def."
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=2044835"Jelous" is spelled wrong
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?board=1&id=1963101&thread=1957467It's not rocket science. Those took less than a minute to find, so I'm fairly certain there are many others that are similar.

Speaking of "not rocket science," it's pretty clear that you failed to comprehend what is meant by "typo" in this context. What S&G would argue is that "def" and "jelous" are in fact misspellings, not typos: the semi-literate posters in question would have made the same errors had they been writing with a pencil rather than typing.
Obviously there's no way of looking into the poster's soul and knowing for sure whether he knows how to spell "deaf." But those examples aren't classic typos like "teh" for "the" or something.

Seriously? This one?
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=1690068From your perspective, 1½ pages is a lengthy post? Wow! You are destined to disappoint the ladies if your definition of "lengthy" is THAT exaggerated!

No, it's pretty clear that you didn't read the previous post that I directly quoted. CSU Runner's criteria clearly stated that "A typo would involve missing a letter," amongst other things. I easily found two examples like that.
On the other hand, you sound rather positive that "the semi-literate posters in question would have made the same errors had they been writing with a pencil rather than typing." It's nice to see that the disciples are just as condescending as their savior.

By the way: GAL, I'm a bit surprised that you even jumped into this thread. Didn't the thread title make the subject matter clear? Given that the subject is one that seems to upset you, why did you even click on the thread?
Anyway, that's my five minutes for LR tonight. Best wishes to all!

You actually did not cut and paste his whole responses, those were there, but they were part of even more corrections he was making to a post. You cherry picked out a portion of the corrections.
I have not had any encounters with S and G so far, but there are few, if any, posters who never make a grammatical error. Sometimes incorrect usages are deliberate, like using sentence fragments for speed and convenience. Sometimes one gets by even the most fastidious of us.

This isn't basketball. I didn't "cherry pick" anything. I pasted the quotes that were relevant to your antagonistic little "prove it" statement, which is exactly what I did.
Have fun making excuses and over rationalizing, but when you wake up in the morning I will still be right!

I took a look at the links you cited. CSU Runner is right, you did "cherry pick" out things that made it appear you were right and failed to quote the rest of what was posted that shows you were wrong.
I bolded the actual comment of S&g that shows he was not simply correcting a "typo" and was correcting a bunch of mistakes. Further, it is not clear the "jelous" correction is a typo, my guess it that it was a misspelled word.
"Some" not "sum."
Your subject and verb do not line up in the first sentence. "Favorite things" is plural and so it should read "are to wait."
"Jelous" is spelled wrong.
In the last sentence there is no need for an exclamation point and a period.
When I went and looked at the actual thread and then what you cut and pasted out of it, it looks to me you are being dishonest to try and win points. In my mind, you lose the argument and your credibility. You would have looked a lot better if you just admitted you were wrong instead of lying to try and prove your point, then when CSU Runner calls you out for your lies you call names.
Amusing. I haven't lied about anything, but just because you are paranoid doesn't mean the world is not out to get you! Also, if you improve your reading comprehension level you will see that CSU Runner started utilizing "names" long before I came into the picture. I'm not sure that saying his statement was antagonistic equates to "calling names," but that may relate back to your reading abilities.
That being said, CSU Runner was the one that referenced "the ravings of a mad man," and since he fired the first volley of over-the-top disparaging remarks I felt that it was only appropriate to respond accordingly.
CSU Runner wrote: I do think S&g is a regular poster and do wonder what his regular posting name is;
Sounds entirely plausible.
Flagpole Willy? Probably not since he does not comment much and I don't think FW could keep his mouth shut.
Yeah, I don't think he'd post under a separate name, and I don't think it's quite his voice either - S&g seems a little more anal and subtle.
Jim Fiore? Maybe.
Doubt it. I think he'd have the chops but not the inclination - too good a guy.
Benji D? Maybe.
Somehow the thought strikes me funny, but seems dubious. From now on I'll probably picture S&g wearing a couple layers of sweatsuits as he posts - some kind of Benji D / Ted Kaczynski composite.
Sol Richards? Not a chance.
Ha!
wejo? I think there is a good chance he is S&g and does it to stir the pot.
No way. S&g's voice is nothing like wejo's. Too much of a stretch. I'd take FW before wejo.
rojo? Maybe.
But wouldn't he be jumping all over wejo more if it were rojo?
Gerry L. Maybe. He seems goofy enough to do this.
Yeah, and I love Gerry but it's not his style.
Then who?
Old Man by the Sea?
OldXCGuy?
Old people like spelling. Could be one of them.
...it could be just about ANYbody! This isn't DyeStat. I'm sure that a lot of the regular board inhabitants are relatively old.

That is symptomatic of the larger problem. There have been a lot of prominent people within the sport who have been driven away from the LetsRun boards by trolls.
Of course, there are a wide variety of trolls. Some of them are blatant, like "the430miler" and "i love peeps." Some of them are much more subtle, like "Skuj." And yes, others are specialty trolls, like our guest of honor "Spelling and grammer" and his partner "Picking Nits."

1. i am not a troll.
2. i believe that "spelling and grammer" and "picking nits" are the same poster.
