What will happen in the Big Sky Cross this year? The last minute coaching switch at NAU throws an interesting new twist into things, though they are probably going to be good no matter what.
Men:
NAU - always tough in cross, 7000' puts hair on chest
WSU - 28 minute 10k man, 8:30 steepler, several good milers. (might well win).
MSU - several solid returners, good recruiting class
ISU - for some reasons, a better team in track than in cross
UM - ditto
Women:
UM - will be beastly, if injuries are avoided
WSU - pack attack, same song, new chorus
NAU - not lower than third, possibly first
MSU - 3 solid returners, good freshmen, much potential
ISU
What about the individuals? Hard to argue with Lomong #1 and Pilkington #2 in the men's race, but what about the women? Lindsay Anderson is off to the World Championships (congrats to her. UM has some young girls who will contend, Weber and NAU both have several solid front runners coming back, MSU has Driscoll back after three years all-conference.
