Runnning an 8k in Kennedy Track Spikes, Good or bad idea, because my team issued spikes are soooo heavy, and I am not able to order spikes in time for my race this weekend. What does everyone think?
Thanks

If the course doesnt have a ton of pavement or rocky areas wear 'em. If you like the Kennedy's on the track you will love them in cross. They are all I wear.
Depends on the course...We ran a decent amount of hilly courses and I didn't feel the Kennedy's provided enough support for me on the downhills...I'm a kamakazie when it comes to downhills though. I did use them on two really flat and grassy courses and they were fine.

Not really an answer to the question, but I think it's interesting that threads like this (asking for advice, chatting about races, etc) get maybe a handful of responses, while anything that bashes someone or says they're hot gets 50 responses within the hour...
I'd rather see stuff like this! Doesn't do much for me though because I've gotten myself so out of shape after graduation that I won't be racing any open cross races this season...
I wore Kennedy's all last year for XC and I loved them. I did tear them up but I'm almost positive it was because my feet were a little too wide. Definitely try them out. I would wear them this year if I could afford a new pair.
I wear the Kennedys for Track and Cross Country. They do take a pounding, especially if there is any gravel on the course. Once you take them out on the course, you probably won't be able to wear them on the track again. I use my pair from the previous track season for cross.
A few years ago there was Kennedy cross country shoe, that had the same upper, but the outsole was a little stronger, and lasted a lot longer.
what about using the ventelus?
