I have an epiphone les paul ultra, more of less brand new, a crate amp 120 watts, and a multieffects processor I would be interested in selling as a package deal.
Are you looking for an electric or an acoustic? How much are you looking to spend?
I am looking for an acoustic, spending range preferably 150-200. To the guy that might be interested in selling, let me do some research. Thanks for the replies guys.
If you are serious about playing the guitar 200 dollars will buy you a piece of crap. Go to a guitar store and just try pressing the strings and you'll see the difference between a cheap acoustic and an expensive one. If you really want something that's playable you need to look at something in the 500 dollar range. Check out Ebay and look at what's available there for 200 dollars. I'd strongly suggest you look at a used Martin, Taylor or Gibson. You may spend more but if you are serious it's something you will own for a lifetime and it will give you hours of pleasure. I personally like Taylor and you can find one for 500.
Even for a begginer would you suggest this? Would it make it easier to play as well as sound better? I don't imagine guitars wear, just the strings I assume?
As far as acoustics go Martin is the best, and always have been. Look at those, but I have no idea what those go for these days.
i've been playing for about 8 years, and i still have my yamaha f-335 that i got for like 160. it's a good starter guitar - stays in tune for a good while and has decent tone for the money. i still have it and play it every once in awhile so i can appreciate the martin that i bought a few days later on the day i signed my first job contract.
the advantage to getting a cheap starter is that you don't want to put a bunch of money into a hobby that you may bail on in 3 months. starting playing the guitar is rough, and you basically have to accept the reality that you're gonna be pretty f-ing bad for the better part of 6 months. a lot of people never get past tat phase - they get so discouraged that they give up before they get the chance to enjoy playing. as a runner you probably already appreciate the idea of the cumulative effect of hard work over months and years - playing the guitar is no different - apply that principle and you'll be fine.
I would sell you one, if i had one
