if you want to go into medicine, i suggest you do not pick any of those majors...with the possible exception of physiology. Zoology and biology are easy majors and unless you spice it up you won't get into medical school. Of course there are exceptions, but those are not safe bets.
Medicine, def gotta go Physics with a concentration in quatum mechanics, also minor in classics is good too
don't really know what you're looking to get into, I'm a physiologist....I guess it encompasses the human body. What I do is more electro-physiology and on a smaller cellular level.
But there are plenty of fields out there, it sounds more like you just don't know what you want to do yet, but you're pretty sure it's one of those fields. Just pick something like physiology which will take most of the common courses for the first couple years and when you get there you can switch it around after you determine more of what you want to do. There's basically a field for anything you want to do, the trick is just actually deciding what you want to do
I've taught biology (cell, genetics, development, some physiology) for 20 years and as it happens I'm writing letters of recommendation today for a couple of my students who want to go to medical school. My advice to someone who isn't sure what he/she wants to do is to start with general biology. Most programs at American colleges have requirements that cover lots of different areas of biology in the first two years and then let you pick more specialized courses in the second two years. If it turns out that you really are interested in human physiology, you are going to find cell biology and biochemistry useful, and genetics and molecular genetics or genomics REALLY useful in the future. Take a good comparative physiology course to give you the big picture before you dive into how just one slightly weird mammal works.
But beyond any particular set of courses, I recommend that you work as hard as you can and really engage the material. If I was writing you a letter of recommendation I'd love to be able to say that you are bright, have great study habits, are reliable, and ask good questions. People like that have a good future.

Biology. My dad is a biologist for the federal government now...works to protect wetlands and marshes. He also worked for a zoo for a while, and later a park ranger.
However, he once thought about entering the medical field as well, and the biology degree that he graduated from college with could have allowed him to do just that if he wanted.
Good luck!
Study physics or applied math. If you can understand high level logic, you can do just about anything and it provides a solid foundation for any type of research. if you can survive an applied math curriculum with A's and B's, you will impress anyone in academia.

I started out with just general Biology major, and switched to a comprehensive Biochemistry/Molecular Biology major, which is much more rigorous and will allow me to stand out a little more. I am not planning on going to medical school like you are, but I do plan on attending graduate school.
I was a pre-med microbiology major, with a genetics emphasis. General biology majors are a dime a dozen for med school, so I would specialize in something like biochem or microbiology, or, even better, chemistry or physics with all the pre-med requirements.
