make sure you get one with at least 1GB of ram. I have a Macbook that works great... just had to upgrade the ram
Go to a starbucks and sit down with your coffee and open the MacBook and watch the women and gay men flock to you!
Amazing stup*** answer....Thank you
The MacBook Pro I have is the best piece of electronics I have ever purchased in my life. Buy the Pro - you won't regret it.
Although if all you are using it for is Word docs and Internet then the MacBook would probably suffice.

Relax, I was trying to be funny.
I just wanted to bump the thread b/c I am in a similar situation as you.
I have a MacBook Pro. With the new MacBook models the main thing you get with the Pro is more memory and more ports. Obviously that's MORE money, so if you aren't going to need an ExpressCard, you may be able to save some money with a MacBook.
I'd recommend at least 2GB RAM and have it put in when you buy it. IF you decide you need something Windows only you can put up Parellels. I have a 1GB WIndows OS under Parallels that I use for the .Net and Access work I need to do.
When I'm doing video/graphics the extra RAM is very nice also.
If you can afford it go with the Macbook Pro, its worth the extra cash, it has the santarosa chipset (sp?), and the LED screen that will never burnout (really) and it's also better for the enviorment if you're into that stuff (better battery life too), also get the latest version of Parallel's, so then you can run windows and the tiger/leopard OS at the same time without restarting. Also it comes with 2 gb's ram with the option for 4 gb's which is plenty ( get the 4 gb's if you're gonna do HD video editing, you might want the 1920x1280 17 inch display if that is the case)
I am not Power or Strong User Computer, just the common, like Office and Internet, not More not Graphics, but I had have bad luck with Windows and Security problems.
Think that MacBook is good with Good RAM memory.
Thanks
I bought a MacBook about 6 weeks ago. I didn't really consider the Pro because I just didn't have the extra money. One word of advice, though, if there is an Apple store near you, you might go check it out. When I got mine, there were more models at the actual store than online, including a MacBook model with 2GB RAM, which is what I got and I think is probably the best deal (among the MacBooks at least). Might not be true anymore, but just a suggestion.
No, get a PC
Unless you are doing a lot of video stuff the MacBook should suffice. The folks at the MacStore told me not to bother with the Pro.
As others have said, make sure you get enough memory at the outset.
